Wisconsin Technical College General Studies Transfer Certificate Programs
Gateway Technical College is offering a 30-credit General Studies Transfer certificate that will transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. This new transfer agreement with UW-Parkside marks the first time a block of Gateway General Studies courses can be transferred to a university without the student having completed a Gateway degree. The program is structured for a seamless transition from Gateway to UW-Parkside. The 30-credit General Studies Transfer Certificate offers students a less expensive way to earn their general education credits as they eye a bachelor degree at UW-Parkside. This agreement covers 30 Gateway credits chosen from an approved list of courses within each of the following General Studies areas of study (please see bottom of page for exact courses which transfer): Social Science, 9 credits; Composition, 3 credits to 6 credits; Math, 4 credits to 5 credits; Natural Science, 4 credits; Humanities, 3 credits; Application and Performance 3 credits; Foreign Language, 6 credits Students would enter as a UW-Parkside sophomore if they complete the 30-credit General Studies Certificate at Gateway and meet the admission requirements at UW-Parkside. Students must notify a Gateway counselor at the time of registration of their intent to take this program of study. They will also be assigned a UW-Parkside counselor who will help guide them with information on which general studies courses are appropriate for the bachelor degree they expect to seek and on admission to UW-P.
