FVTC provides auto tech pipeline for growing dealership

On one hoist is a car that just got a new engine. On another, the back brakes are being replaced. Fox is an automotive technician and shop foreman with Bergstrom Automotive’s Hyundai-Mazada-Mitsubishi dealership in Appleton. “There’s never the same thing day in and day out, so there’s always a new challenge,” Fox said when asked about his job. “You get to return cars to people that were previously broken in good order, so they’re happy.” And that makes him happy. “I have a lot of satisfaction knowing that every day that I go home I fixed somebody’s problem and I helped someone,” Fox said.

BTC firefighting training tower complete

Blackhawk Technical College’s newest, referendum approved training facility, is complete. BTC Director of Marketing and Communications Liz Paulsen says the fire training tower is four stories tall and built out of shipping containers.

Madison College Veterans Day: Warrior tradition, honoring veterans the native way

Madison College helped honor local veterans Thursday with a ceremony led by the school’s Native American Student Association. The ceremony was about recognizing veterans in a way that built on a long tradition of honoring warriors and showcased native culture.
